I’ve been pursuing a permanent sand painting form, tile. This piece, “Christopher Street Performance” is 4’ x 3’, black sand glazed to white tiles and mounted on a light, permanent substrait. A tile painting of layered glazes.

Below are my glazing tests, colorful textured trivets for morning Joe. Their popularity spawned my larger pieces which also use pattern for more than decorative illumination.
